This set of cups is famous in Taiwan, it was invented by taiwanese tea masters to facilitate the appreciation of the volatile aromas of tea. The taller cup helps to retain these aromas for a longer time compared to common tea cups. Something similar to what happens when tasting wines, since taller glass or cristal cups are also used for the same purpose.
